People who view aging as a positive experience, live an average of seven- and- a-half years longer than those who look at it negatively, according to a recent study.
In any given year, other studies indicate pessimists have a risk of death 19% greater than average. The power of optimism is even greater than that of lower blood pressure or reduced cholesterol, each of which lengthens a life by about four years, according to some studies.
